In the DRY!!!!

This week has been very productive. We have gotten the house in the dry. In the dry, for everyone who doesn't know construction lingo, means that no water can get into the interior. This happened in the earlier part of the week and since then a lot of big things have happened. The HVAC system was installed, most of the electrical has been run, and the plan is to finish the electrical tomorrow.

I want to give a big thank you to Krause Service Company out of Texarkana, Tx for installing the central heating and air unit in the house. They did a fantastic job with the install too. Take a look for yourself.

House almost in the dry

The first full week this Spring quarter has been very productive even though we are roughly a week behind schedule. As a class we are striving to get back on track within the next few weeks by setting goals and striving to accomplish them. our main goal is to get the house in to the dry. Which basically means that no rain can get into the interior of the house. Once we have completed that task we can move on to other things such as electrical, HVAC install, and spraying insulation in the house.

Rain.......

The weather...

Our enemy for the last week has been the rain. It has slowed us down significantly but our class is still pushing though the project with our head held high. We have exactly 70 days to complete this house. The pressure is beginning to creep up on us but we can do it.
Here are some pictures from this last week.

framing/sheathing

To everyone following the Habitech12 group it feels as if I haven't updated yall in a while. We have been on our quarter break here at Tech since the end of February. This has been good for my class we have worked from sun up to sun down on the house which has made it easy for us to get a lot of work done. The framing of the house is coming to an end which is fantastic! I will let the pictures speak for themselves.
